Anyway a campaign was started to get everyone to download the late Jeff Buckley's far superior (some would say definitive) version of the song in the week before Christmas to get THAT to number one instead... This song (fairly obviously based on the Buckley version) was my attempt to abuse my position on The Now Show to boost that campaign.
The effort failed, but might have inspired the following year's successful campaign to thwart the machinations of Cowell and his minions by getting Rage Against The Machine's Killing In The Name to the Christmas no. 1 slot...
